The Spanish Costas department has committed to removing all obstacles to the refurbishment of the Arguineguín to Patalavaca seafront promenade, according to local mayor Onalia Bueno.

Puerto de Mogán is pretty from all angles, but one of the best views is from the El Faro restaurant at the tip of the harbour wall.

The Hotel THe Puerto de Mogán pool isn't the biggest or the most spectacular on the island, but it makes the list of best Gran Canaria pools thanks to its views and ocean access. 

Now that things have calmed down in Arguineguin after the Fiestas del Carmen celebrations, it's time for Playa de Mogán to get started. It's traditional fiestas start on July 21st ands run until August 2.

The Mogán Municipality now has its Blue Flags in place at Amadores, Playa de Mogán and Puerto de Mogán marina. They were run up the flagpole by local footballer Aythami Artiles, signed to newly promoted football team UD Las Palmas.

Puerto de Mogán marina is known as Little Venice because of its gorgeous lanes and canals. It's a must-visit spot in Gran Canaria and here's twenty photos that show you the highlights.

One of the three great barranco drives up into the Gran Canaria highlands, the GC 605 hairpins its way up the Mogan Valley until it reaches the cumbres at Ayacata village just below Roque Nublo.

Radisson Blu, one of Europe's top upmarket hotel brands, has announced that it plans to open a new 422 room hotel in south Gran Canaria's Puerto de Mogán resort. Radisson already has a presence on the island thanks to its 189-room Radisson Blue Resort close to Arguineguín.

The plans for the new hotel look impressive: 422 rooms with private balconies, free high-speed internet access, an all-day restaurant, a themed restaurant, two pool bars, a multifunctional ballroom, extensive gym and spa facilities, three pools, a climbing wall and a running track.

Work has already begun on the site of the hotel in Puerto de Mogán. 

The hotel will be operated by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group in partnership with Radisson Blu. It5 is due to open in Q4 2016.

Market days in Puerto de Mogán are Gran Canaria's biggest but if you visit on other days, there's plenty of little shops to explore in the gorgeous lanes behind the marina and the beach.
